Dr. Sean Williams - Liminality and the Celtic Calendar - Her current research focuses on Liminality (the in-between) and the role of music making connections. She studied sean-nòs (The Old Style) singing with Joe Heany in his later years
Barry Shears - Strathspeys and Reels - A Cape Breton Perspective: An in-depth look into the various forms of Strathspeys and step dance Reels once practiced by the pipers and Gàidhlig singers of Cape Breton. The session will include written scores and Gàidhlig lyrics from “Play It Like You Sing It: The Shears Collection”
Seumas Mac a’ Ghrùder (James Magruder) - The Listening Mind: Meditation Scripts as Comprehensible Input for Gaelic Learners. Introducing an innovative approach to language acquisition that leverages guided meditation scripts as vehicles of comprehensible input drawn from the Refold method.
Patrick Roper - The Legacy of MacBeth: Separating Shakespearean Fiction from the Historic Facts - Patrick is a tartan expert and retired kiltmaker plus Gàidhlig student for several years. He is also a stage and screen actor, acting historian, and teacher. He has appeared in several Shakespeare productions including MacBeth where he also served as a historic and cultural advisor on several productions.
Ceilidhs Friday evening at 6 PM PST, Saturday evening at 5:30 PST on Zoom - come share a song, tune, story, poem or joke, or just listen to and chat with your friends. Ceilidhs are free but you will need to register to get the link.

This event starts with an online Céilidh on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 pm Pacific Time.
Saturday morning starts via Zoom at 8:30 am for Meet & Greet.

Both Céilidhs are open to the public for no charge but you must register for the Céilidhs so that we can send you the Zoom link.
Workshops start at $35.00 with discounts for multiple classes or $105 for an all-day pass.
Current Slighe nan Gàidheal members receive discounted rates starting at $30 or $90 for an all-day pass.
Winter Fèis 2025 will be held via Zoom.
