Developing Gàidhlig Language Skills Through Gàidhlig Poetry (online)

Returning Summer 2025…

Each week, Rich shares a poem in Gàidhlig, and participants collaborate in translating and exploring its meaning together. Afterwards, participants take turns reading through the poem in Gàidhlig, with Rich providing guidance on pronunciation, rhythm, and interpretation every step of the way.

The poems might be lyrical, historical, seasonal, funny, satirical, or deeply moving – sometimes a blend of it all!

This class is a fantastic opportunity for Gàidhlig learners to practice aural comprehension, reading, and pronunciation, while also gaining insight into the beauty and depth of Gàidhlig poetry.

All levels of Gàidhlig learners are welcome; more advanced learners support and hold space for new and intermediate learners to engage and grow.

Participants are encouraged to use as much of their Gàidhlig as possible during class discussions.

Along with each class, Rich emails out a copy of the poem and an audio file, so you can continue to immerse yourself in the language and develop your skills between sessions.

The cost for Poetry with Rich is $30 USD per class, or you can get a package of 6for $125 USD.
